The Texel breed originated on the Isle of Texel in the Netherlands. A medium sized breed known for their remarkable muscle development and leanness. Texel's have a docile temperament, they are easy keeping, easy fleshing animals that thrive on grass.

BLACK WELSH MOUNTAIN

Our heritage Black Welsh Mountain sheep are a registered conservation herd as well as sustainable livestock resource, they are a small dual purpose breed that provides excellent mild lamb and completely black, dense, durable fleece.

SOAY

We maintain a small flock of purebred registered Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) Soay as an effort to help preserve genetic diversity. Soay's originated on the 250 acre island of Soay in the St. Kilda archipelago off the western coast of Scotland, they are the closest living relative of the Mouflon sheep from which all other sheep breeds descended.

BELTED GALLOWAY

A heritage beef breed of cattle originating from Galloway in the west of Scotland. They are known for their striking appearance, exceptionally flavorful lean meat and ability to thrive in harsh conditions. We recently purchased a Wagyu bull, this Japanese breed is known for its intense marbling, we will be crossing him with our Belted Galloway cows to produce exceptional beef bringing together the traits of these two amazing breeds.

LARGE BLACK HOGS

This is a heritage breed, originally from England. They are docile and friendly pigs, bred to be on pasture and will graze without destroying pastures, they have retained all their natural mothering instincts and produce exceptional pork with good marbling, darker color and old world flavor.

CHICKENS

We maintain a flock of 50 mixed breed laying hens who are pastured and fed organic grains, eggs are available locally year around. We also have been experimenting with raising meat chickens, please contact us if interested.
